sorry for the delayed response. best place to look is www.pctrailruns.com which has a bunch of ultra-races up and down the west coast. it will give you some ideas for where the good running trails are. if you plan to be in or near southern california, i live in laguna beach, and would be glad to show you some of the trails around here. there are some pretty amazing trails with ocean views.
